The Hastings County Historical Society
The Hastings County Historical Society was established in 1957 to promote interest
in the history of Hastings County. The objectives of the Society are:
- To promote, encourage and enter into research on the history of Hastings County.
- To provide information and education services on the history of Hastings to its citizens, and particularly its students.
- To maintain archives for the deposit of historically significant documents.
- To encourage the preservation, use, maintenance and enjoyment of all historically significant objects and buildings in Hastings County.
- To promote activities necessary for the preservation of the culture of the people of Hastings County.
This web site is designed and maintained by volunteers from the Hastings County Historical Society.
The Society’s Archives Capital Campaign was launched on the 26th of May 2010.

Ploughing Match HC 4950 The Society’s collection of documents and photographs from Hastings County dating from around 1815 to the present is now part of the Community Archives at the Hastings Heritage Centre.
